ProjectX Trading Journal for TopstepX & Futures Traders
TradeNexa supports the ProjectX connection used by futures-trading environments such as TopstepX and The Futures Desk. It brings completed trades into the same journal, review, and session workflow as the rest of your trading record.
What the connection is for
A broker connection gives TradeNexa the completed trade record. Your journal then becomes more useful when you add the chart, setup, and decision context that cannot be recovered from a fill alone.
- Completed futures fills and trade timing
- Instrument, direction, size, entry and exit data
- The ProjectX account selected for analysis
ProjectX API access is supplied by the relevant firm and may be a paid firm add-on. TradeNexa uses the API for read-only journaling; it does not place or manage orders.
How to connect ProjectX
- Generate the required API key from your firm’s ProjectX dashboard.
- Open Settings and choose Broker Integrations, then select ProjectX and your firm.
- Enter your username and API key, choose the account, and verify the imported trades in Journal.
What to do after you connect
First, make sure the right account and trade history are visible. Then use the Session and Journal areas to record what you saw, what mattered, and whether the execution matched your plan. That is the context Nexa can later compare across your own history.
Questions traders ask
Can I use this with TopstepX or The Futures Desk?
Yes. Select ProjectX in Broker Integrations, choose the relevant firm, and use the API key supplied through that firm’s dashboard.
Is the ProjectX API fee charged by TradeNexa?
No. Any ProjectX API access fee is set and billed by the firm, not by TradeNexa.
